Cheff.fit is a meal planner and food log at cheff.fit. This page says what the app stores, and who else handles it.
Google sign-in
If you choose Continue with Google, Google sends us your name, your email address, and your profile picture. We use your name and email to create your account and sign you in. That is the only use.
We do not sell that information. We do not use it for ads. We do not pass it on, except to the services named below that store the account and run the app.
Email sign-in
If you make a password instead, we store your email address. The password is saved by our login service as a hash. We never see the password itself.
What you save in the app
- Body details you choose to enter: sex, date of birth, height, weight, how active you are, and whether you want to lose, hold, or gain weight. We use these only to set your nutrition targets and to show your own progress.
- Allergies you list, so a recipe that conflicts with them can be flagged.
- Daily targets for calories and nutrients.
- Meals you log: the name, a written description, the nutrition numbers, and a photo if you took one.
- Your kitchen: recipes you save, your weekly plan, and what you have in stock.
Food photos and estimates
A photo or a written description of a meal is sent to our AI provider, which estimates the calories and nutrients. On a Pro plan, the recipe name, ingredients, and method are also sent so it can write the cooking steps and estimate one serving.
On every plan, these analyses usually run on our AI provider's free tier. Under its terms for that tier, the provider may use what you submit to improve its products, and its staff may review it. When the free tier is used up for the day, Pro analyses run on a paid tier, where the provider does not use your content that way; on the free plan you are asked to try again later instead. Writing recipe steps follows the same order.
The photo is stored with that log entry. Delete the entry and the photo goes with it. We also store how many of these estimates your account has used that day, so the daily limit can be applied.
Technical logs
We log technical details of each analysis (time, model, token counts, errors) and app errors you hit (the error message, the page, and which part of the app failed), to keep the service working. We never log the photo, the description you typed, or your password. We keep these for 90 days (AI call logs) and 30 days (error reports). When an account is deleted, its error reports go with it, and its AI call logs lose the link to the account and stay only as anonymous records until they expire.
Who else handles it
- Our database provider stores your account, your saved data, and your photos. A row is only readable by the account that owns it.
- Google signs you in, if you choose Continue with Google.
- Our AI provider reads the photo or text you submit for an estimate, and the recipe text when a plan is written.
- Our hosting provider serves the site and counts page views. Those counts are not tied to your account.
- Public recipe and food-product databases receive a recipe search, or the barcode number when you scan a packet. Neither request includes your account.
- Our payment processor takes payment if you subscribe to Pro. It receives your email address and your payment details. We receive from it only the state of your subscription (active, cancelled, payment failed), its price and its renewal date, never your card number.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information. We don't show ads. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see your card number.
Deleting your account
We keep this while your account exists. To delete your account, email [email protected] from the address on the account. We delete your profile, logs, plans, inventory and photos, and cancel any subscription, within 30 days.
